For Immediate Release
The National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association (NRLCA) is heartbroken by the tragic
murder of NRLCA member Brandi Reynolds, a rural letter carrier in Hays, North
Carolina who was fatally shot while serving her route last week.
While the investigation remains ongoing, one thing is certain: this senseless and horrific
act of violence should never have happened. Brandi’s death is a devastating reminder
of the dangers rural letter carriers face each day as they faithfully serve the American
public.
Brandi was 35 years old, a loving mother of two, and had proudly served as a rural letter
carrier for more than six years. She was a dedicated public servant whose loss is
deeply felt throughout the NRLCA family and her community.
On behalf of NRLCA’s 130,000 members nationwide, we extend our deepest
condolences to Brandi’s family, friends, co-workers, and all those who knew and loved
her. We mourn alongside them and honor her life and service to her community.
