Postal Employee Charged in Credit Card Theft Scheme

8/1/25 – North Bergen Police Chief Robert J. Farley Jr. has announced charges against two individuals in connection with a credit card fraud investigation.

Eirin Novas, a U.S. Postal Employee, and Awilda Taveras-Bido of Newark, were charged with multiple offenses including Credit Card Theft, Fraudulent Use of Credit Cards, and Conspiracy. Novas allegedly stole credit cards from residents’ mail while on her delivery route in North Bergen, passing them to Taveras-Bido, who then made over $4,000 in unauthorized purchases.
