Ballots, laptops and more stolen from 2 post offices in Sacramento County

10/1-/24 – This morning, Sheriff’s South Patrol Deputies responded to two United States Post Office locations after having been broken into sometime overnight. The affected locations were located on C Street in Isleton and the other on State Highway 160 in the town of Ryde, both in the South area of Sacramento County.

Employees at the Post Office in Isleton reported the back door had been broken into, and the suspect(s) made off with a laptop computer and mail. At the Ryde location, the front door had been pried open, where the suspect(s) made off with another laptop computer and mail, which was placed in individual PO boxes. Some of that mail included ballots that were also placed in the PO boxes.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s Property Crimes Detectives have responded to the scene and are working with the United States Postal Inspector.
