A mailman’s behavior has sparked a massive controversy online after a man shared footage of the way his package was being handled.
Nick Verzilli shared a video of the incident to YouTube on Friday, in a clip titled, “USPS sucks.” The footage, which now has more than 1 million views, shows a postal service worker flipping, tossing and kicking a large box before delivering it to Verzilli’s doorstep.
Verzilli told the Daily Mail that the package contained about 40 pounds of computer equipment, adding that he began filming after the first time he saw the driver drop his order. He also shared photos of the box, which appeared to be scratched and split open in one corner. More at Yahoo News

USPS is overburdened with Amazon packages. This is no excuse for the way this item was handled but I can see this happening more and more as carriers are expected to deliver mail and excessive package volume daily. More incidents of lifting injuries due to this as well. How do I know? I’m a delivery supervisor. The demands on both bargaining employees has become ridiculous and the public suffers. Late deliveries to customers, workers out due to accidents, reduced workforce and time restrictions for delivery that are almost impossible to meet safely.
The USPS should look at dedicated package delivery personnel at each facility and let the carriers carry the mail if it wishes to be in the package delivery business.
Why has this guy got no hand truck or help with this identified HEAVY parcel? Is this his 1st parcel, 50th parcel or 200th parcel delivery of the day? What kind of a boss does he work under? Does he have health problems? Been refused sick leave or annual leave? Is this employee full time? This is not professional behavior so we must know why this is happening? Then fire him and any others above him who are also not performing their jobs in a professional manner! It’s easy to take a video of one carrier not performing professionally but if he and fellow workers are being mistreated, overworked and bullied by an unprofessional boss this is a reason this office and district should be investigated.
My post man uses a handtruck not his feet.
I work for the post office. This is the exception not the rule. Everyone I work with is very conscientious of our jobs. That a hole carrier should be fired. This is NOT the way we do buisness!
