NALC News – NALC and USPS have settled a national level grievance regarding CCAs hired over the contractual caps. This settlement (M-01892) provides that all city carrier assistants in all size offices with 30 months of relative standing on September 1, 2018 will be converted to career status within 60 days from the signing of the agreement on July 27, 2018. CCAs meeting this criteria in 200 workyear offices or larger will be converted to full-time regular and CCAs meeting this criteria in all other offices will be converted to part-time flexible. All CCAs converted to career status in accordance with this settlement will be converted within their current installation.
NALC projects this settlement will result in over 5,000 CCA conversions to career status, including approximately 3,500 conversions to part-time flexible in smaller offices.

Seeing this just proves that the union on the rural side does nothing. We have subs waiting 15 years or more to make regular. I’m going into my 8th year as a sub myself. I was a regular on the city side but left to raise my daughter. I had no idea that these sides were so different until it was too late. I could kick myself for wasting so much time in these place.
Just another agreement that mgmt. has no intention of honoring.
