SEPTEMBER 30, 2014 – The Postal Service began a test in the San Francisco area this past August to see if delivering packages in the early morning hours was feasible.

The Postal Service has since filed a request with the with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) to conduct a two-year market test of customized delivery of groceries and other prepackaged goods.

With PRC approval, the test would begin on or shortly after October 24 and expand nationwide with a focus on major metropolitan cities.
