A female postal worker delivering mail was struck Saturday by a hit-and-run driver and critically injured. Authorities are searching for the driver.
The hit-and-run driver slammed into a parked car before ramming his vehicle into the back of Lydia Ray’s postal truck Saturday afternoon, throwing Ray from the vehicle. The incident happened near the intersection of Santa Fe and Euclid avenues in Compton.
Juan Mosquera and nearby residents freed Ray, 41, from being partly pinned underneath a car after it happened.
“How could another human being do that, run away like that? It was an accident, stay there. It’s an accident. Ran away like a coward,” said Mosquera. “I hope they catch him.”
Too bad. She will probably loose her job for not wearing her seat belt.
I hope she recovers quickly.
