In Angelton, TX, a Military Moms
and Wives volunteer prepares a
care package with Houston
District Business Development
Specialist Kanickewa Johnson.
The Postal Service offers a lifeline for people who want to stay connected to their loved ones in the military — especially during the holidays.
The Military Moms and Wives of Brazoria County, a Texas group that supports veterans and service members, volunteered at the Angleton Post Office to help mail more than 2,600 care packages overseas.
Many members spent more than 10 hours working on the packages. They received help from Inspection Service and USPS employees, including members of the Houston District marketing team.
Meanwhile, the Hugs Project, another non-profit that supports service members, recently teamed with employees and volunteers to ship 3,500 holiday care packages.
Volunteers and Oklahoma City P&DC and Oklahoma District employees formed an assembly line to move the packages into the truck.
Oklahoma City Consumer and Industry Contact Manager Kerry Rennels and Business Service Network Representatives Denise Pierre and Rachel Bennett worked year-round to ensure the holiday packages were ready to go on the big day.
