August 27, 2014 – The U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General (OIG) informed USPS that during their project Procurement and Use of Common Fleet Trailers – Northeast Area they became aware that 35 trailers, leased by USPS in the New Jersey Network Distribution Center (NDC) – Northeast Area, could not be located.

In their report to USPS the OIG says “Due to our prior findings, continued concerns, and the expense associated with the missing leased trailers of $287,374,2 we referred this matter to the OIG’s Office of Investigations.”
