PMG says he is confident Congress will act

PMG Pat Donahoe told an audience at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, he’s optimistic Congress will approve legislation that allows USPS to chart a new course to long-term financial stability. But he said Congress must act soon.

Building on the case for new legislation he made during his April 17 testimony before a House committee, Donahoe said USPS could be profitable today and for the next decade, adding the organization needs Congress to give it flexibility to operate more effectively. He added USPS will continue urging Congress to approve a new law.
