Possible Health Insurance Changes Again

4/1/26 – Enrollees in the Federal and Postal insurance programs may see changes in their health care coverage next year. The Office of Personnel Management is out with new requirements for carriers in the government’s health insurance programs. An OPM document released this week details a flood of changing expectations, including coverage updates for childhood vaccine incentives, weight loss medications and gender transition care. Carriers have until the end of May to finalize their benefits, offerings and premium rates incorporating those new requirements. The changes take effect for the upcoming plan year, which begins January 2027.
