Convicted Mail Thief Sentenced to Seven Years in Harris County, TX

Houston, TX – 10/24/25 – A U.S. Postal Inspection Service investigation into multiple mail theft complaints made during July 2025 led to the conviction of Jason Daniel Guerrero for first-degree felony mail theft. Guerrero was sentenced on October 15, 2025, to seven years in state prison in Harris County, TX.

During their investigation, U.S. postal inspectors from the Postal Inspection Service’s Houston Division and detectives with the Houston Police Department Major Offenders Division identified Guerrero as the individual involved in multiple mail theft incidents. Guerrero was arrested on an active mail theft warrant and booked into the Harris County Jail on August 26, 2025. This case was prosecuted by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

“This sentencing is a statement that mail theft will not be tolerated, and the perpetrators will be brought to justice,” said Postal Inspection Service Houston Division Inspector in Charge Shameka Jackson. “The Postal Inspection Service will continue to partner with other law enforcement agencies to pursue criminals who victimize postal customers.”
