Detroit — The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man who robbed a letter carrier on Detroit’s east side Tuesday.
The carrier was robbed at gunpoint at about 10:30 a.m. on the 18600 block of Alcoy. The same man is believed to have used a gun to rob a DTE Energy employee on Maddelein, east of Gratiot, a short time later, officials said.
Postal officials released a composite sketch of the suspect today. They said he is a light-skinned black male with a thin mustache. He is between 22 and 26 years old and about 145 pounds. He wore a black leather jacket with a stitched design and a fur collar and dark, baggy pants. He carried a handgun.
