Video: Mailman Helps Fight Flames Until Firefighters Arrive

A U.S. Postal Service mail carrier jumped to action after a crash caused the engine compartment of a pickup truck to catch fire Thursday afternoon.

After a two-vehicle collision at Bristol-Oxford Valley Road and Cobalt Ridge Drive South in Middletown’s Levittown section, a red pickup truck damaged in the crash had heavy smoke coming from its engine compartment around 3:45 p.m. Under the hood, flames grew and the mailman used a small fire extinguisher to try to hold down the blaze until firefighters arrived.
