New Letter Carrier Shirt
The new shirts are a solid light blue (without the red stripes) and will include the same postal emblem. The fabric remains a 65% polyester / 35% cotton, but the shirts are a little smoother in appearance and feel to the touch. The shirts are still machine washable but now also have the addition of soil release which provides for increased protection and ease of care against stains and soiling.
We are now accepting orders at Postal Uniform Discounters for the new shirts, although we cannot ship them until October 15th as per the USPS. So be among the first in line and the first to wear the first new button down shirt for letter carriers since 1991!

How about moisture wicking sportswear? These things are so hot I die when it’s 55 degrees! And the stains! So embarrassing. Especially the underarms
What kind of A person would consider making A powder blue color shirt for Outdoor use instead of Dark blue so the dirt, sweat and ink stains don’t show instead if you want to know if we work that day why not make it white so every little stain can be shown. I truly believe somebody got paid a lot of money trying to embarrassed the employees and the Postal service. Let’s make it simple remember that word called “commons sense” I believe it’s still around.?……
These shirts are ugly and they make me look like a freaken barber!! Postal Service just proving again they don’t have a backup plan!!
Hate the new solid shirts. They show every little stain and we get plenty of stains on our shirts from the dirty circulars, mail, trucks, shoulder straps, etc….
why not a nice pull on shorts on pants and a t shirt.? we sweat, transfer dye to our clothes and the shorts stick to you when its hot. how about a little comfort?
Why don’t they just change the shirts to a camouflage mix of green and brown, since that spot on the front where we hold the mail against our torsos always turns that color? You mean to tell me that in the entire United States, there’s not ONE mill that can produce a blue shirt with some little stripes on them? These new shirts just look cheap…and the weave looks like it’s gonna be a hot summer…and the huge expanse of solid blue is going to show every bit of dirt! If this is the best that American mills can do, maybe it’s time we colonized some more countries so we can get good “U.S. Made” textiles?
Both the Letter Carriers and the Window Clerks are being offered new woven shirts in the solid light blue fabric. Vendors can begin shipping to both Crafts this Friday. Some vendors have opted not to offer the new shirt to the Window Clerks at this time.
Get with your Brookfield Sales Rep immediately to place your order for both Window Clerk and Letter Carrier shirts in the new solid light blue fabric. Product will begin shipping on Friday. Brookfield has shirts for both crafts in stock ready to ship.

The reason for the changed shirt is that the last remaining mill that made the fabric for the current shirts has shut down, and there is no U.S. made substitute available. Instead of having the fabric come from offshore, the USPS (along with the unions and those of us involved on the manufacturing and retail end) has decided to switch to a fabric that is “US made” available.
The USPS has indicated that they will allow the current shirt with the red stripes to be worn “in perpetuity”, so don’t throw them out! You can still wear them as long as you have them. Personally, I like the current shirt but the new ones do look clean, crisp, and professional!

The USPS is losing so much money, we can’t afford to get stripes on our shirts anymore!
Now this is a nice touch……….spiff up the carriers who can now look more like office workers rather than workers who sweat, shiver and suffer under the controlling hands of dictatorial managers. It won’t be long before new four-in-hand ties are brought back and required to wear regardless of weather temperatures. Or perhaps bowties will be the new neckware………..they might make it easier when moving around in the back of the LLV’s rearranging packages and trays of mail.
