PHOENIX (KPHO/KTVK) – People are sending and receiving less mail. To save the institution, the American Postal Workers Union supports adding banking duties to services.
“We fell in love on the parcel sorter machine,” said postal worker Mary Lou Pavoggi.
Pavoggi not only devoted 34 years to the Postal Service, she also met her husband there.
“There is a lot of anxiety, especially in the areas where their facilities have been earmarked to close,” Pavoggi said.
So, Pavoggi, president of the local American Postal Workers Union, supports adding banking to their services. From check cashing to small loans, she said this would also add revenue and not cost taxpayers money. Read more
