ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Caught on camera, a porch pirate.  He stole on camera, and is still out there.  And we’re sure ‘he’ is not the only one.  This is proof, ’tis the season to think security.

You`re going to see more package deliveries as we head into the holiday season, so we thought it’s time to the people who deliver and receive packages.

A guy steals a package from a house in the city.  It’s about 5:30 in the evening. The homeowner Kevin was expecting the delivery but found nothing when he got home from work.   ‘There were two packages; both clothing and he took them both. I actually had three packages but he missed the third one.’

This is the fifth time he’s been hit in five years.  So Kevin says he installed a camera on his porch. ‘The video camera alerts my phone whenever there is movement detected. And I detected when the mailman came at 1:52pm.  While I was driving home I detected some motion too which was the thief stealing my package.’

If you`re not going to be home and you expect a package to be delivered by your mailman, the US Postal Service’s new website ‘myusps.com’ allows you to register the address you want a package delivered to according to Valerie Welsch.  ‘You`ll receive an alert letting you know the package has been delivered.’ Read more
