5/14/25 – Cale Tinder, 36, Beloit, Wisconsin, is charged with detaining and opening U.S. mail while employed as a U.S. Postal Service employee. The indictment alleges that Tinder took letters, cards and items sent through the mail that he was entrusted to deliver, opening some of the items and storing the undelivered mail at his home in Beloit. The indictment alleges that Tinder engaged in this activity from on or about February 8, 2024, to August 28, 2024.
If convicted, Tinder faces a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.
The charge against him is the result of an investigation conducted by the United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Anderson is handling the case.
