I had a good laugh when I read the companion news article entitled “Open season extended”,(FED WEEK) where the APWU has the gall to make the statement regarding the delay…”The question of choosing the health care and coverage of your choice are important life decisions”!!!!
The APWU and other postal unions are mostly responsible for endorsing this ridiculous mandate (medicare) and the creation of the Postal Health insurance plan that has significantly reduced the number of plans available to postal employees/retirees! The narrowed choices are because of them!! To think I paid dues for 30 years, what a joke, you would be better off joining AARP!!!
Joe – right on. Don’t know if you’re retired or not but insurance rates are going through the roof us retirees. and for many, if not all. Mine (B/C Basic) is increasing by $92.00 PER MONTH! Why? because this stupid Postal Reform Act (yes, endorsed by the unions) requires each insurance carrier to include Medicare Part D. Well guess, what – these insurance carriers will not include Part D at their cost…no, they will include it and increase your health insurance cost to cover the Part D inclusion. RACKET!
