Statement from the PRC 7/11/22
Washington, DC – The Postal Regulatory Commission has become aware of the recent arrest of one of our employees. Upon becoming aware of this information, the Commission has terminated this employee effective immediately. The Commission is shocked and horrified at these serious allegations and maintains a steadfast commitment to promptly deal with any claims of employee misconduct.

Jacob Bogage (WaPo): Employee in question is Russ Rappel Schmid, the PRC’s chief data officer, who was arrested after being recorded soliciting a minor. He was at a conference in California on government business at the time.
Windwards Neighborhood Civics Club: Rusell Rappel Schmid, the chief data officer for the Postal Regulatory Commission was just arrested for trying to have sex with a 14 y/o boy in San Diego.
