LEON VALLEY — A new drop box for mail is posted outside the Leon Valley library, the city’s response to a wave of mail theft.

“We actually had residents from various neighborhoods letting us know that when they put outgoing mail in their mailboxes and put the little red flag up, that mail in particular was getting stolen,” said Kelly Kuenstler, city manager.

Kuenstler said city officials wrote a letter to the U.S. Postal Service a year ago requesting the blue collection box – it arrived last week. More
