APWU: Retirees Key to Contract Negotiations

APWU 02/17/2015  With contract negotiations just hours away, the APWU wants retirees to know that they are also an important part of the battle.

The Postal Service – the institution that they have dedicated their working lives to – is under attack from all sides. Who would want to see our great national treasure destroyed or turned over to private profiteers?

Retired APWU members can support the fight for good jobs and good service by hosting an APWU Tailgating party. The Retirees Department encourages retiree chapters to get active both in the run-up to bargaining and throughout the negotiating period. Tailgating parties can be held during regular or special chapter meetings.

Let us know about your event, so that we can send you stickers and other materials. Share your event with us, by taking pictures or statements of support.  You can reach us at nccc@apwu.org or by mail at APWU Retirees Department, 1300 L Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20005.

  1. My local 162 in Honolulu does not have a
Retiree section and as far as I can tell the State level does not have either.
Currently I am not a member due to the treacherous actions of the clerk craft director and the current local president who was
recently made our temp. Business Agent.
Left with no-one to trust in Hawaii’s
    APWU I quit .
Is there any Retiree avenue of involvement
    for Hawaii?
