Indiana letter carrier aids woman who fell
Churubusco, IN, Letter Carrier David Gatwood was delivering mail when he saw a woman lying on the ground. When he approached her, she told him she had fallen and couldn’t get up.
Gatwood helped the woman get back into the house, called her daughter and stayed with her until she arrived. The woman told Gatwood she appreciates how he always checks on her.
The woman also told Gatwood she was married to a carrier who once had his route. Gatwood was recently inducted into the Million Mile Club, which honors employees who’ve driven 30 years or 1 million miles without causing an accident.
