9/30/20 – The increase in requests, and push, for mail-in ballots have increased tremendously since the 2016 election – we are all aware of that – mostly because of COVID – but also because some political forces see mail-in balloting as a means to ‘hopefully’ insure a win for their candidate, Biden, or at least opening the door to contest the election. The Atlantic says “According to polls, Democrats are three to four times more likely to vote by mail than Republicans.”
Everyday you read articles from the national media that says there is no problem with mail-in balloting…none. DO NOT believe this. At the same time these same media outlets post troubling articles like the following:
- 100,000 Brooklyn Voters Possibly Got Ballots With the Wrong Names on Them
- As States Prepared Mail-in Ballots, Postal Service Failed to Update at Least 1.8 Million Addresses
- A million mail-in ballots could go uncounted this fall. The USPS may not be to blame
- NYC voters are wrongly receiving mail-in ballots marked for military use
- Investigators recover discarded military ballots in Luzerne County
- Probe into ‘discarded’ mail-in military ballots becomes campaign outrage fuel
- 1,000 Georgia Voters Face Prosecution for Casting Multiple Ballots
- Voters’ poorly marked ovals could lead to contested ballots
- Growing signs that mass mail-in voting is going to be a disaster
- Postal Service investigates mail, including absentee ballots, found along road in Outagamie County
- 7 military ballots for Trump discarded in Luzerne County, feds say
- Mail-in ballots were subject to fraud in Baltimore during the Civil War – historical
We could post many more examples of problematic mail-in balloting, but what’s the use…most do not want to believe that mail-in voting has any problems. We do agree that absentee balloting is safe for voters…IF, their ballots don’t get thrown in the trash somewhere.
You go to Walmart – you go to fast food outlets and restaurants – and most people are continuing their normal lives even during this pandemic. So, in an effort to make certain your vote gets counted…get out of the house, protect yourself with a mask, and go vote at your local voting location. You will feel confidant that your vote was counted.
By all means…VOTE and STAY SAFE.
