Brooklyn Borough President calls NYPD’s arrest of Glenn Grays along mail route unjustified, racially motivated and potentially dangerous.
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, NY — The recent arrest of an on-duty U.S. Postal Service (USPS) employee in Crown Heights was unjustified, racially motivated and “could have been another Eric Garner situation,” Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said at a Tuesday press conference.
Glenn Grays, 27, was arrested by four plainclothes officers on March 17 on President Street, Adams said.
Prior to the arrest, Grays was nearly hit by an unmarked police vehicle as he exited his USPS truck, according to the borough president.
He “made comments, as any New Yorker would do,” Adams said — prompting the four officers in the vehicle, including one lieutenant, to jump out of their car and surround him on the sidewalk. Read more

At this point there should be a show of solidarity, even a statement of support from the postmaster General. I so wish they charge the cops, but everyone knows the truth. The Postmaster General will be silent and they will brush this under the rug. Years down the road when the poor carrier is broke and unable to fight anymore, a token will be paid.
Shame on the Postmaster General for not standing up for carriers.
The only question that needs to be asked is, what is the Postmaster General going to do about this.
Four bullies with ego chips on their shoulders. Most postal vehicles are right hand drive, and he probably got out on the traffic side, and made the babies mad. Or they intentionally drove as close to him as possible, jerks.
I hope this guy can retire rich and these bullies get defrocked. They sure don’t have guts.
No, I’m white, love good cops, but not the ones with superegos.
A mail carrier can be arrested for committing crimes on duty, but this one wasn’t. If anyone assaults or detains a mail carrier, they discover it’s a federal crime to: “forcibly assault, resist, oppose, impede, interfere with and inflict bodily injury on a federal employee engaged in the performance of official duties of carrying and delivering United States mail.” Now we’ll find out if the federal prosecutor is willing to charge these officers like any other individuals would be. Hopefully, they will soon be former-officers, so the feds won’t have to worry about keeping the NYPD from pouting, or whining, or otherwise acting like spoiled children.
Look , I am white , not privileged . What I see here is total stupidity not necessarily racism. This is not even citation worthy. WTF , I hope he sues their rear end off.
