The NALC and USPS have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding which will alleviate some of the staffing issues in many delivery units by providing for a) the conversion of over 6,000 part-time flexible city letter carriers to full-time regular, b) the filling of vacant residual CC-01 and CC-02 positions that are not withheld for Article 12, and c) the limited authorization to hire an additional 3,400 bargaining unit transitional employees. First of all the only reason te’s existed is because their was short handed. If the regulars did their jobs their wouldn’t be a need. So the union protects the ones it shouldn’t and turns its backs on the one it should. Te’s do every thing regulars do and then some. I was a te for five years did all routs collection . Drove 2 tons did all the worst routs. All the regulars cried about was overtime when they couldn’t finish own route. So when they came up with lame CCA talking about a Carrier path. I demonstrated I can do the job. The po is a cash cow. I hope they go to five days as they should. Stop wasting government money. Its outdated and out of touch does not turn a profit. Theirs way to many managers that don’t know their ass from their elbow, way too many regs who can’t getter done. Get rid of the union then you’ll see a change. I want my union dues back……
The union stewards and local are a bunch crooks. The union stewards do absolutely nothing but sit in the office all day and work out of the back pocket of management. They spend the majority of the time making up a Scab List. I would like to make up a list of stewards that do not represent there own members. I am a member and I am sick of a do nothing union local. I look forward to coming out with a book on the hostile work enviorment and how the union only adds to mix of the toxic enviorment. This is not a real union the only time they represent the people is when the grievance effect them as stewards. I hope your local is not like this local.
Being a TE at the Elizabeth NJ office for 5 years has
been the most brutal work experience ever, but i have
grown to love the job.
I know that TE’S took overtime away from the regulars
and PTFs, which was not our fault.
I know that TE’s were grossing close to 60,000 a year and
USPS didn’t save any money by doing this.
Two things reminded me of why being a city carrier or aka
“Mailman” was the one day i delivered a letter written
from an armed service recruit stationed in afganistan
that was addressed to his little sister. The look on her
face was priceless.
The second is when a mother and daughter walked up to
a blue mailbox and the daughter deposited the letter and

I do believe most carriers forget about the real reasons of
Why we work . Most of the carriers do it for the paycheck
And have no heart for the job.
Its been one hell of a rollercoaster ride and with all the
Broken promises, eliminating the TE position may be a blessing

I agree 60651 JC needs to grow up because it is people like him that makes the post office looks bad and he is probably one of those regulars that is lazy and barely like to work. Some people just dont get it.sad to say but very true.
The carrier who talked to a t.e. talking bout burger king should be flogged.you’re insulting b.k.,t.e.’s and whoever else you think you’re better than.get your mind right and check back.
JC.I’m not crying and I can find another job better believe me and If you don’t go to school that’s why you’re thinking about Burger King’s job but an example:just 6 months to get another one at the hospital like Phlebotomist ,EKgist or Tech.Patient care and the salary is around $17.00/h.I’ll earn more than TE’s or CAREER.You and others postmaster are only jealous and you don’t like USPS to continue growing up.
TE’s need just to be recognize by having lunch time etc… not to be cheated, one day you’ll be cheat too if not why to hire them if you can do all job by yourself do it.Do you know it against the law or USPS rules to give clerc employee to pitch flat and to case the route before leaving the office.Think about.Jealous and lazy.
TE’s,PTF’s and CAREER are in the same team.Let’s grow up the USPS.
USPS is no more secure job like in the past that means JC can lose his job if the government refuse to rescue the USPS and Scanner will provide him burger king’s job(he’ll carry french fries and hamburger).

The post office would not be able to function with out te’s our office alone has two and we have to borrow another two everyday just to keep our office going. Post office really needs to start taking care of them
TE’s suck. Stop crying or find another job. Your job is to take the garbage that’s left after the CAREER carriers get what they want. Burger King is hiring.
Unbelievable, how they’re going to hire 3,400 TE’s when they can’t take care for existing TE’s.They’re squeezing and thieving them, using them like rabbits or slaves.Shame for the management team.USPS should fail them because they don’t know how to create and protect revenues.Every USPS employees is a part of the population and that population pay taxes for USPS service.If the people see employees dirty, uniforms with wholes, employees without rain coat etc…They’ll have the picture of the USPS.
USPS management team should take good and wise decisions not only to cut TE’s or PTF’s hours, they don’t have benefits and they have only 5 days for vacation when they work 1 year and now they can’t work 40 hours even the job exist, the regular must come to work 2 or 3 hours till 10:00am time assigned for TE’s and directly beginning street time, doesn’t matter the loading, setting scanner, checking vehicle, accountable mails etc.. time and no more overtime for them, they must be poor and sad.
We will see.

become reg after 180 days you have to pass a test first
and they are not giving those anymore so as long as you have
your toe in the door you better stay and if you think you can find
another job go for it like they say you can be replaced and all
people who start with the po think that after awhile when
you work your ass off know every rout you think that
they can do without you better think again

T.E.s get one day off a week two weeks of vacation a year that no supervisor or manager will approve .get sick or a family member dies too bad better get you sorry rear end to work.T.E.s work just as hard as everyone else but get treated like crap who the hell would want to keep working under these conditions always being told we won’t bring you back after your separation it’s all crap -highlander station

Very much disagree with Steve. Remain in the union especially after making regular. It is the union dues that help pay for our negotations and train our stewards and other union officers. Without the union working hard for us in the past we wouldn’t be sitting at the level we currently are, but it doesn’t mean that we can just sit back and do nothing now or we will lose everything.
I wonder if the NALC will turn the’re back on the new employee’s like they did to the NRP employees.
I suggest to all you ptf’s once you turn regular, quit the union as soon as you can. because if you get hurt your union will shake your hand and say goodbye.
What about PTR positions? We always seem to get lost in contract negotiations.
