Procedures for handling Every Door Direct Mail-Retail transactions to change

Beginning Aug. 26, updates to Point-of-Service (POS) ONE functionality and other changes will affect how retail associates handle Every Door Direct Mail-Retail transactions.

The number of Every Door Direct Mail-Retail pieces that can be mailed at a Post Office will change to a maximum of 5,000 pieces per ZIP Code, per mailer, per day. Previously, the maximum was 5,000 pieces per office, per mailer, per day.

The minimum number of pieces in a mailing will change to no fewer than 200 pieces, unless there are fewer than 200 active deliveries in a ZIP Code. In those cases, the number of mailings must equal the number of active delivery points for that ZIP Code.

Customers must use the Every Door Direct Mail – Retail indicia and can pay for postage by check, cash, credit card, debit card or with a meter strip attached to a PS Form 3587, Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) Retail.

A new acceptance procedure will allow retail associates to scan barcodes on postage statements created online.
