The Postal Service is granting a waiver from repayment of relocation expenses to employees taking the fiscal year (FY) 2012 voluntary early retirement (VER) offer, accepting Optional Retirement or resigning with incentive on July 31, August 31 or September 30. This applies only to those employees who have not completed their service requirement — one year for bargaining employees and two years for non-bargaining. The waiver is not available to employees separated for cause.
Employees who have started the relocation process and received a lump sum allowance and/or miscellaneous expense allowance must return all relocation funds prior to separation.
Note that this policy affects only those employees accepting the FY 2012 VER or Optional Retirement or resigning with incentive.
