Former USPS employee speaks on chaos inside new Indianapolis facility

INDIANAPOLIS – FOX59/CBS4 viewers are continuing to reach out with delays in mail service in the Indianapolis area.

Local mail service companies have blamed the problems on the new USPS facility on the east side of town.

Kelly Jackson worked as a mail processing clerk at the new hub back in October. Her job was to check in trucks and scan the skids of packages.

“A lot of times those would come off or there’d be some (mail) on the floor of the trailer, and they would just have you throw them in the box, or tape them back on the box and they didn’t always go with that actual shipment,” said Jackson.

When mail came in that was damaged, she said it was set aside and forgotten about.

“We would put those in big bins, and they would sit there for two or three weeks and just keep adding and it’s mail from different places,” said Jackson. Read more at Fox 59
