Video: Raton, NM carrier beaten with brick, left for dead

RATON, N.M. (KRQE) – Police say a Raton United States postal worker was beat and left for dead Wednesday morning by a man using a brick as a weapon.

It happened after 10 a.m. in the 600 block of North 2nd Street; that’s just half a mile from the Raton Post Office on Park Avenue.

When police got to the scene, they found 62-year-old David Boyer, a postal worker from Trinidad, Colorado, face down on the ground. Officers say he was bleeding from the head.

“He had a cut to the back of his head, he was bleeding, when he fell face down, he broke his nose,” Raton Police Chief John Garcia said.

Just a few hundred feet away in the 100 block of West Maxwell, police saw 29-year-old Cody Martinez walking with a brick in his hand. Police believe Martinez beat Boyer with the brick. Read more
