Former Marysville Postal Supervisor Pleads Guilty To Thefts

Former Marysville, CA USPS supervisor June Marie Casteel has plead guilty to stealing $4,633 in money orders and cash. Her thefts took place between Septemeber 5 and 9, 2009.

Casteel took advantage of her position as supervisor and gained access to an employee’s cash drawer. She then used a point-of-sale password and issued 5 postal money orders. Two other clerks cashed the money orders for her and gave her the proceeds.

Casteel hid her thefts by submitting false financial records and then instructed the two clerks that cashed the money orders to lie to federal investigators.

She faces a maximum of 5 years in prison, a fine up to $250,000 and 3 years supervised released at her sentencing September 10, 2010.
