Mississippi postal worker stabs postmaster with screwdriver several times

HERNANDO, Miss. — A postal worker is behind bars after police say she used a screwdriver to stab the postmaster at the Hernando post office Tuesday morning.

Police said Tamekia Lashea Scott stabbed the victim multiple times around 9 a.m. at the post office on Commerce Street. By 6 p.m., the victim had been released from the hospital.

Investigators haven’t said what may have sparked the attack, but said that afterwards, Scott walked to her car in the back parking lot and tried driving away. Her fellow employees reportedly blocked her in until police could arrive. More at WREG
