WENDELL, N.C. (WNCN) – Postmen have a motto that says, “Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, not hail shall keep the postmen from their appointed rounds.”
Apparently, that creed doesn’t cover traffic. A Wendell man reached out to CBS 17, saying that the United States Post Office suddenly stopped delivering his packages.
Since 1997, Thomas Burns has lived in this home on Wendell Boulevard. Burns said that, until recently, he’s never had any trouble receiving his mail or his packages.
That changed a week ago. He got a notice in his mailbox that his package was waiting at the post office.
“Which was unusual,” Burns said.
He came home to a second slip in his mailbox telling him yet another package was at the post office.
“That told me something was up,” Burns said.
So, Burns put in a call to the postmaster.
“She told me they would no longer be delivering packages to my home because there is a safety issue,” Burns said. CBS Raleigh, NC
