WASHINGTON – A total of $125,000 in reward money is being offered for information on the fatal shooting of a postal worker who was killed while he was delivering mail in Cheverly, Md., Saturday night.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering $100,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the killing of Tyson Jerome Barnette, 26, who was found shot multiple times near the intersection of Reed Street and Jutewood Avenue, which is just south of the Cheverly Metro stop.
Prince George’s County Police is offering $25,000 to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
First and foremost my heart of hearts go out to the family of my brother and fellow mail carrier Tyson J. Barnette. I pray that his spirit and soul are at rest with Jehovah, God, and Yeshua, Jesus the Christ. Now what the hell has to happen, before Postal Management takes their heads out of their rectoms. No matter how you slice it, no carrier should be on the street after dark. Some area’s are not even safe in the day time, how can they be serious. What else that is truly amazing is that the Letter Carriers Union goe’s along with management on night deliveries. They’re always touting saftey out of one side of their mouth, and threatening your livelihood out the other side. Do you really think that carriers have a choice wether they can be out on the street after dark or not? If it was our choice none of us would be out there. I personally feel like the blood is on both the Letter carriers Union and Postal Management’s hands.
