This reflects a nearly three-fold increase from USPS\u2019 cash balance at the end of<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/about.usps.com\/who-we-are\/financials\/10k-reports\/fy2012.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">fiscal year 2012<\/a>.This increased cash balance should provide the Postal Service with some additional spending flexibility for capital investments.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nalc.org\/news\/research-and-economics\/economics\/teaser\/Cash-Post.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>How did this happen you might ask?
