He\u2019ll be succeeded by COO Megan Brennan, who\u2019ll become the 74th Postmaster General \u2014 and the first woman to hold the position. <a href=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/1aa-USPS-small.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-7270\" src=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/1aa-USPS-small.gif\" alt=\"1aa-USPS-small\" width=\"250\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe organization has a lot of momentum right now, and we\u2019re doing a lot to innovate and improve the way we serve the public and our customers,\u201d Donahoe<em><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/liteblue.usps.gov\/news\/link\/2014\/11nov\/news17s1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">said in November<\/a><\/em>, when he announced his retirement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe nature of delivery is changing dramatically and the Postal Service will continue to be an important part of those changes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>USPS will dedicate<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/liteblue.usps.gov\/news\/link\/2014\/11nov\/news05s1.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><em>several stamps<\/em><\/a><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>in 2015, including the Battle of New Orleans, the final entry in the War of 1812 series. Also planned: new Music Icons, Legends of Hollywood and Black Heritage stamps.<\/p>\n<p>The 2015 National Postal Forum, the mailing industry\u2019s largest annual meeting, will be held May 17-20 in Anaheim, CA. Other major events will include National Postal Customer Council (PCC) Week from Sept. 21-25.<\/p>\n<p>Another date to remember: July 26, the Postal Service\u2019s<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/liteblue.usps.gov\/news\/link\/2014\/12dec\/news31s4.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><em>240th anniversary<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The new year will bring leadership changes and other milestones for the Postal Service.
