The Postal Service offers a lifeline for people who want to stay connected to their loved ones in the military \u2014 especially during the holidays.<\/p>\n

The Military Moms and Wives of Brazoria County, a Texas group that supports veterans and service members, volunteered at the Angleton Post Office to help mail more than 2,600 care packages overseas.<\/p>\n

Many members spent more than 10 hours working on the packages. They received help from Inspection Service and USPS employees, including members of the Houston District marketing team.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Hugs Project, another non-profit that supports service members, recently teamed with employees and volunteers to ship 3,500 holiday care packages.<\/p>\n

Volunteers and Oklahoma City P&DC and Oklahoma District employees formed an assembly line to move the packages into the truck.<\/p>\n

Oklahoma City Consumer and Industry Contact Manager Kerry Rennels and Business Service Network Representatives Denise Pierre and Rachel Bennett worked year-round to ensure the holiday packages were ready to go on the big day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
