Last Sunday alone, 3.2 million packages were delivered and the number is expected to rise through Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCustomers have told me that they are really glad to receive packages on Sunday,\u201d said City Carrier Assistant Rufus Graham II. \u201cCustomers expect their orders to be delivered on Monday, and they have stated how nice it is to receive packages a day early.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Baton Rouge, LA, Customer Services Supervisor Tommy Battaglia said, \u201cYou walk up to the door and their faces light up to see a package from grandma. With the volume that we get, it definitely benefits the customers on Sundays.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>West Chicago, IL, Customer Services Supervisor Larry Rodgers says he\u2019s impressed by how well the sequence delivery program works for Sunday deliveries. Once the packages are scanned, the program sorts them into city and rural routes.
