{"id":7924,"date":"2014-07-01T16:07:28","date_gmt":"2014-07-01T21:07:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=7924"},"modified":"2014-07-01T16:08:17","modified_gmt":"2014-07-01T21:08:17","slug":"post-plan-completion-date-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2014\/07\/01\/post-plan-completion-date-extended\/","title":{"rendered":"Post Plan completion date extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"margin: 0.25em 0px; color: #222222; text-transform: none; text-indent: 0px; letter-spacing: normal; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 24px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; word-spacing: 0px; white-space: normal; background-color: #ffffff; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px;\">Post Plan completion date extended<\/h1>\n<h2 style=\"margin: 0.5em 0px; color: #222222; text-transform: none; line-height: 16px; text-indent: 0px; letter-spacing: normal; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 13px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; word-spacing: 0px; white-space: normal; background-color: #ffffff; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px;\">Program keeps Post Offices open by reducing hours<\/h2>\n<p>USPS &#8211; July 01, 2014 &#8211; The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/liteblue.usps.gov\/news\/link\/2012\/08aug\/news29s1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Post Plan<\/a>\u00a0timeline has been extended \u2014 with the program now being finalized in early January 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Since the program was announced more than two years ago, 9166 Post Offices have had retail operating hours adjusted based on customer use:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3,009 offices are now 6-hour a day offices<\/li>\n<li>4,900 offices are now 4-hour a day office<\/li>\n<li>1,257 offices are now 2-hour a day offices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Not all Post Offices had retail hour adjustments \u2014 4,567 offices were upgraded and the Postmasters in these offices were promoted when this initiative began. <a href=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/3-a-USPS-news-small.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-6608\" src=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/3-a-USPS-news-small.gif\" alt=\"3-a-USPS-news-small\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Postal Service is offering a one-time incentive payment of $10,000 to the remaining impacted Postmasters if they are eligible for and opt to participate in Voluntary Early Retirement (VER); or if they opt to resign from the Postal Service.
