Even in the digital age, there are \u201cstill some things that mail does better\u201d for mailers and recipients.<\/p>\n<p>For recipients, the benefits of mail are simple: No Internet connections, devices, outlets or batteries are required. Also, recipients can typically predict when they will receive their mail, as opposed to emails that arrive throughout the day. <a href=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/news16s4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-7574\" src=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/news16s4-300x234.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"234\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mailers benefit because the odds of a message getting a recipient\u2019s attention are better: The average consumer receives 157 emails a day, compared to just two direct mail marketing pieces, according to USPS research. Also, according to the Postal Service\u2019s most recent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/liteblue.usps.gov\/news\/link\/2014\/01jan\/news29s1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Household Diary Study<\/a>,\u00a055 percent of people who receive advertising mail read it.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Postal Service will never incorrectly sort your mail into a spam folder, Porter says.
