{"id":4909,"date":"2012-08-07T22:59:22","date_gmt":"2012-08-08T03:59:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=4909"},"modified":"2012-08-07T22:59:22","modified_gmt":"2012-08-08T03:59:22","slug":"dpmg-promotes-culture-of-customer-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2012\/08\/07\/dpmg-promotes-culture-of-customer-service\/","title":{"rendered":"DPMG promotes culture of customer service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" href=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/USPS-News.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-4910\" title=\"USPS News\" src=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/USPS-News-150x150.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>DPMG promotes \u2018culture of customer service\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Treating customers well is key to revenue generation and keeping USPS competitive, Deputy Postmaster General (DPMG) Ron Stroman told Chicago District employees last week.<\/p>\n<p>The DPMG also called for tapping into the \u201creservoir of trust\u201d USPS has earned as the most trusted government agency to establish a culture of customer service. \u201cWe also need to re-instill in our employees a sense of pride in working for the Postal Service, pride in their appearance and pride in how they treat each customer,\u201d said Stroman.<\/p>\n<p>Stroman visited Chicago to meet with the district\u2019s leadership team, customer service managers, and with retail associates and letter carriers at two stations. He noted that USPS beats the competition when it comes to delivery service \u2014 but that alone isn\u2019t enough to increase revenue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe beat FedEx and UPS in package growth last year,\u201d Stroman told the station managers. \u201cWe have more competitive prices, and we have more business opportunities. Now, we have to provide better customer service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stroman noted Chicago\u2019s efforts to improve customers\u2019 experiences with USPS and pledged his support as station managers listed ideas to address four key areas for continued gains \u2014 building strong relationships, loyal customers, repeat customers and revenue growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur customers have choices, they don\u2019t have to come to us,\u201d said Stroman. \u201cHow people are treated makes all the difference in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DPMG promotes \u2018culture of customer service\u2019 Treating customers well is key to revenue generation and keeping USPS competitive, Deputy Postmaster General (DPMG) Ron Stroman told Chicago District employees last week.
