{"id":487,"date":"2009-07-16T07:18:40","date_gmt":"2009-07-16T12:18:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=487"},"modified":"2009-07-16T07:18:40","modified_gmt":"2009-07-16T12:18:40","slug":"donahoe-says-fss-will-improve-delivery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2009\/07\/16\/donahoe-says-fss-will-improve-delivery\/","title":{"rendered":"Donahoe Says FSS Will Improve Delivery"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mceTemp\">\nJuly 15, 2009<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\"><strong>Change is coming: FSS improves efficiency<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\nIn his latest Field Updates video, DPMG and COO Pat Donahoe discusses the ongoing deployment of flats sequencing system (FSS) equipment and how this technology will revolutionize the way USPS sorts and delivers flat-sized mail.<\/p>\n<p>The Postal Service installed FSS equipment at the Dulles, VA, P&amp;DC more than a year ago for acceptance testing and evaluation. The equipment is now fully operational, says Donahoe. This summer, nationwide rollout of FSS equipment continues, with machines installed at the Columbus, OH, P&amp;DC, Kansas City P&amp;DC, and the Phoenix (West Valley) L&amp;DC.<\/p>\n<p>Donahoe says change is coming and he emphasizes the need for offices receiving FSS equipment to listen to the experience of others and to make sure they have processes in place to function properly in this new environment.<\/p>\n<p>Donahoe also says the new technology will improve delivery of the mail and that the FSS will help USPS sort volume much more efficiently and ultimately reduce costs.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>July 15, 2009 Change is coming: FSS improves efficiency In his latest Field Updates video, DPMG and COO Pat Donahoe discusses the ongoing deployment of flats sequencing system (FSS) equipment and how this technology will revolutionize the way USPS sorts and delivers flat-sized mail.
