It also provides hundreds of video testimonials from veterans who overcame various conditions and traumas, and offers information on how to recognize symptoms and where to seek treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Make the Connection offers assistance on improving relationships with friends and loved ones, preparing for deployment and transitioning from service, and dealing with the death of family and friends. It also offers assistance with job and employment issues, financial and legal matters, homelessness, physical injuries, chronic pain, spiritual concerns, retirement and aging, substance and alcohol abuse, anxiety, depression, anger, post-traumatic stress disorder and many other mental and physical health issues that afflict veterans.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Veterans Administration may have gotten this one right,\u201d said APWU Human Relations Director Sue Carney. \u201cMake the Connection is by far the VA\u2019s most comprehensive web-based resource to date. It\u2019s connecting veterans in need with veterans who understand. It\u2019s allowing veterans to \u2018connect\u2019 with tools, to conduct self-assessments, and to obtain useful information from the comfort of their home \u2014 without the hassle that often accompanies VA appointments. Make the Connection is assisting veterans to manage the issues they are facing and helps find solutions for improving their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The APWU is committed to supporting the men and women who have served our nation and ensuring they have access to the benefits and services they have earned.
