WASHINGTON, DC \u2014<\/strong> The White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud and the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM) today announced more than $500 million in anti-fraud savings for calendar year 2025.<\/p>\n

The results cover the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) and Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB) Programs. $237.7 million was saved from claims stopped or reduced before payment, and an additional $271.9 million in losses were prevented due to changes in billing and policy. \u00a0An additional $21.9 million were recovered after payment. This work was done in coordination with the Special Investigation Units of the FEHB and PSHB Carrier organizations that administer the health plans.<\/p>\n

\u201cFraud in federal health benefits programs drives up costs for employees, retirees, and taxpayers,\u201d OPM Director Scott Kupor<\/strong> said. \u201cThese results demonstrate the importance of strong carrier oversight, better data sharing, and earlier detection. Working with Vice President Vance and the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, OPM is strengthening accountability and protecting the premiums paid by enrollees and the federal government.\u201d<\/p>\n

The results support the Task Force\u2019s governmentwide efforts to strengthen fraud detection, improve data sharing, and protect federal benefit programs from fraud, waste, and abuse. Chaired by Vice President JD Vance, the Task Force is partnering with OPM to strengthen program integrity and identify suspicious activity earlier.<\/p>\n

OPM administers health benefits for federal employees, Postal Service employees, retirees, and their families through participating insurance carriers. OPM and the Task Force are working to strengthen carrier oversight, expand the use of claims data and analytics, and protect premiums paid by enrollees and the federal government.<\/p>\n
