John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, announced the charge today.<\/p>\n<p>Braxton appeared for her arraignment in federal court before United States Magistrate Judge Martin A. Fitzpatrick in Tallahassee, Florida. Trial is scheduled for July 20, 2026, at 8:30 am in Tallahassee before District Court Judge Mark E. Walker.<\/p>\n<p>If convicted, Braxton faces up to 5 years\u2019 imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>The case was investigated by the United States Postal Service \u2013 Office of Inspector General.\u00a0Assistant United States Attorneys Justin M. Keen and Emma Schwan are prosecuting the case.<\/p>\n<p>An indictment is merely an allegation by a grand jury that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law and is not evidence of guilt.
