The U.S. Postal Service has long struggled with its finances. President Trump and Mr. Musk have both suggested it should be privatized.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

New York Times – 3\/13\/25 – The leader of the U.S. Postal Service said in a letter to lawmakers on Thursday that he had reached an agreement with Elon Musk\u2019s cost-cutting team allowing it to help in \u201cidentifying and achieving further efficiencies.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Postal Service has long struggled with its finances, and Mr. Musk and President Trump have both suggested it should be privatized. But Mr. Musk\u2019s cost-cutting group, the Department of Government Efficiency, has not targeted the Postal Service\u2019s roughly 635,000 workers.<\/div>\n
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, who took his position during the first Trump presidency and moved to shrink the agency\u2019s ranks\u00a0during the Biden administration<\/a>, said he had signed an agreement with Mr. Musk\u2019s group on Wednesday.<\/div>\n
Mr. DeJoy, a Republican megadonor, wrote in the letter that Mr. Musk\u2019s initiative was \u201can effort aligned\u201d with his efforts.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
