{"id":36764,"date":"2024-11-15T16:04:18","date_gmt":"2024-11-15T21:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=36764"},"modified":"2024-11-15T16:04:18","modified_gmt":"2024-11-15T21:04:18","slug":"usps-recommends-new-competitive-prices-for-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2024\/11\/15\/usps-recommends-new-competitive-prices-for-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"USPS Recommends New Competitive Prices for 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>Postal Service continues to offer a great value for shipping with our reliable service to the American people.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Pricing actions part of balanced approach under \u201cDelivering for America,\u201d the Postal Service\u2019s 10-year plan for achieving financial sustainability and service excellence.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Rate changes will support the $40 billion of investments in people, technology, and infrastructure and continue the modernization and improvement of the Postal Service\u2019s operations and customer experience.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>As we previously announced, the Postal Service will not be raising prices in January for our Mailing Services, therefore, the price of a First-Class stamp will remain unchanged.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WASHINGTON<\/strong> \u2014 11\/15\/24 &#8211; Today, the Postal Service filed notice with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) for Shipping Services price changes to take effect January 19, 2025. The proposed adjustments were approved by the Governors of the USPS this week.<\/p>\n<p>The change would raise Shipping Services prices approximately 3.2 percent for Priority Mail service and Priority Mail Express service, 3.9 percent for USPS Ground Advantage and 9.2 percent for Parcel Select.<\/p>\n<p>Although Mailing Services price increases are based on the consumer price index, Shipping Services prices are primarily adjusted according to market conditions. The governors believe these new rates will keep the Postal Service competitive while providing the agency with needed revenue. As we previously announced, the Postal Service will not be raising prices in January for our Mailing Services.<\/p>\n<p>As a strategic part of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/about.usps.com\/what\/strategic-plans\/delivering-for-america\/?_gl=1*63lmng*_ga*MTU2OTA3OTA5MC4xNjU2NTIwNTUx*_ga_3NXP3C8S9V*MTY2NDk4ODA1NS40NDIuMS4xNjY0OTg4MDkyLjAuMC4w\"><em>Delivering for America<\/em><\/a>\u00a010-year plan, these proposed changes will support the Postal Service in creating a revitalized organization capable of achieving our public service mission \u2014 providing a nationwide, integrated network for the delivery of mail and packages at least six days a week \u2014 in a cost-effective and financially sustainable manner over the long term, just as the U.S. Congress has intended.<\/p>\n<p>The PRC will review the changes before they are scheduled to take effect.
