(<a title=\"https:\/\/www.wdbj7.com\/2024\/10\/04\/tree-strikes-roanoke-postal-carriers-mail-truck-paralyzing-him\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wdbj7.com\/2024\/10\/04\/tree-strikes-roanoke-postal-carriers-mail-truck-paralyzing-him\/\" rel=\"\">WDBJ<\/a>\/Gray News) &#8211; 10\/4\/24 &#8211; A Postal Service worker in Virginia suffered serious injuries after a tree fell on his truck while he was delivering mail last week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-left article-text\">United States Postal Service mail carrier Craig Musil was out on his delivery route when a tree fell on his mail truck on Sept. 27.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-left article-text\">Musil\u2019s wife said the tree pinned him in the truck and broke his neck. He also suffered a severe spinal cord injury and needed emergency surgery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-left article-text\">\u201cI just heard a loud thud,\u201d Garrett Harris, who first spotted Musil inside the damaged truck, said. \u201cHe was in pretty rough shape. He was bent over and in a lot of pain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harris says he instantly called 911, and afterward, Musil asked Harris to call his wife.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI could just hear him screaming in the background that he loved me,\u201d Kara Musil, Craig Musil\u2019s wife, said.<\/p>\n<p>Craig Musil was rushed to the hospital but had no feeling in his legs and remains paralyzed after the incident, according to his family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was a very active person before the accident \u2026 but now not having the use of his legs is very devastating,\u201d Kara Musil said.
