Northern Florida<\/strong> \u2014 10\/02\/24 – The Postal Service is continuing to restore service as quickly as possible where it is safe to do so, following Hurricane Helene. Many offices have resumed operations, while some postal facilities in Northern Florida are temporarily suspended.<\/p>\n

Hold Mail is designed for customers who plan on occupying their homes within 30 days. If you feel you will not be able to occupy your home within 30 days, you need to submit a Change of Address (COA) request with the Postal Service. Be sure to mark \u201cTemporary\u201d on the card.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0temporary<\/strong>\u00a0change of address is designed for customers who plan on returning to their residence\u00a0within six months<\/strong>. If you are NOT planning to return to your current address, please submit a\u00a0permanent<\/strong>\u00a0COA request.\u00a0A COA may be filed at the nearest available Post Office or at:\u00a0https:\/\/moversguide.usps.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A COA card is available from your letter carrier or at your local Post Office. COA requests also may be filed at\u00a0usps.com<\/u><\/em>, the Postal Service\u2019s website that is available to customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.<\/p>\n

To ensure mail delivery to your affected area, please ensure that debris is cleared around your mailbox. If your mailbox is badly damaged or destroyed, please provide a secure receptacle with your address clearly displayed for your letter carrier to leave your mail at your residence. Mail cannot be delivered unless a receptacle is provided.<\/p>\n

Customers in areas affected by Hurricane Helene with questions about their mail or package delivery service, or any other matter involving postal operations, can reach USPS through our Customer Care Centers at 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777).\u00a0 The hours of operation for the Care Centers are Monday \u2013 Friday\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 8 AM \u2013 8:30 PM ET and Saturday 8 AM \u2013 6 PM ET.\u00a0 The latest information on the status of postal services in the impacted areas can be found here:\u00a0http:\/\/about.usps.com\/news\/service-alerts\/welcome.htm<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n
