On their website, the postal service says it&#8217;s experiencing unprecedented package increases and had limited employee availability because of the impact of the coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>A nightly mail truck traffic jam at the main post office downtown. Drivers told the 11 news 1-Team they are frustrated because they can&#8217;t unload or load up cargo. They sit parked for hours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSitting about eight hours of the day waiting in line to get unloaded, then we get up there to the dock and we can&#8217;t offload because there is no space to put the stuff,\u201d said Terrance Briscoe, a truck driver.<\/p>\n<p>What the public doesn&#8217;t see is mail piled up in carts in bags on the loading dock and in hallways.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere&#8217;s very few people out there. As a matter of fact, there&#8217;s really not a place for people to walk. It&#8217;s that crowded,\u201d Briscoe said. \u201cIt&#8217;s a stand still. By the time the trucks are loaded. Every truck is loaded trying to go in. There is really no place to put the mail. It&#8217;s been mail left on trailers overnight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Postal workers, who do not want to be identified, told the 11 news I-Team mail and packages are piling up because the postal service eliminated an entire shift of workers as a cost saving measure.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Postal Service officials say that&#8217;s not true.
